Tackling gender equality in Research and Innovation
REA published an article about gender equality to help Horizon Europe applicants address it in their projects
Understanding how gender plays a vital role in research and innovation enhances the societal relevance of the knowledge, technologies and innovations produced. On the occasion of the International Women’s Rights Day on 8 March, the European Executive Research Agency (REA) published an article on how the EU tackles gender inequalities. If you are thinking of applying for Horizon Europe funding, this could help you prepare your proposal.
In this article, REA defines ‘gender dimension’ and ‘gender balance’, gives an example of how a research project can address the gender dimension, and lists EU funding opportunities for applicants working on gender equality. It also highlights Gender Equality Plans, an eligibility criterion for all higher education establishments, research organisations, as well as public bodies.
