Report published on findings from EU-funded projects (Energy)

It clearly outlines the role projects have played in supporting the policy implementation (e.g. Art.8 of the Energy Efficiency Directive) and stresses that the implementation of the measures and methodologies developed by the analysed projects can lead to a reduction of roughly 4.5% of the total final energy consumption at company level.

The report identifies key challenges for the improvement of energy efficiency in industry and services, such as engaging SMEs in exploring their energy efficiency potential, lack of knowledge and awareness of the benefits of energy efficiency, lack of appropriate energy data and energy efficiency improvements not being considered as a strategic investment by decision makers in industry and SMEs.
