Horizon Europe now open to New Zealand organisations

After successful negotiations between the European Commission and New Zealand Government in December 2022, a transitional agreement is now in place, allowing New Zealand researchers to apply to Horizon Europe Pillar II calls

Under the transitional arrangement, researchers and organisations in New Zealand can participate in Pillar II calls and activities of the Horizon Europe programme on equal terms with entities from the EU. Successful applications would move to contracts (grant agreements).

This agreement will remain in place until a formal association agreement is approved by both sides following all necessary validations.

Transitional arrangements are set out in the General Annexes to the Work Programme 2023-2024 and an updated list of participating countries can be found here.
