Belgium Mirror Group – European Beating Cancer Plan

The Belgian EBCP Mirror Group is organizing a plenary that will take place on the 15th of April between 13h and 16h45 at Sciensano’s offices of Eurostation, rue Ernest Blerot 1, 1070 Anderlecht, Belgium.

This will be an in-person event. It will be a unique opportunity to hear about the BE EBCP Mirror Group activities and discuss the latest projects in Belgian cancer field.

What is the EBCP Mirror Group?

In 2021 was introduced the “Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan (EBCP)“, a policy-led initiative that provides a comprehensive framework for tackling every stage of cancer—from prevention and early detection to diagnosis and treatment.

Recognising the urgency and complexity of this issue, Belgium has established a diverse coalition of stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the EBCP. The Belgium EBCP Mirror Group (BE EBCP MG) consists of over 400 experts :

• Federal and regional health agencies
• Professional societies
• Patient and citizen advocacy groups
• Industry leaders

This collaborative body focuses on:

• Identifying priority areas through stakeholder consultation
• Mapping out European Commission funding opportunities, primarily under the EBCP and Mission on Cancer
• Engaging in European Commission cancer-related initiatives and ensuring their effective translation into local action
