EU’s Mission on Climate Adaptation launches its portal
The Commission recently launched a brand new portal to drive forward the EU’s Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change
As we all know, climate change is already taking its toll in Europe. Its impact affects not only the environment and economy, but also the health of Europeans. In this context, the Mission on Adaptation aims to support regions and communities in accelerating their transformation to climate resilience by 2030. It will help these regions to better understand, prepare for and manage climate risks, as well as to develop innovative solutions to build resilience.
The new portal provides information about the Mission and latest developments regarding its delivery. It also offers knowledge, data and tools regional authorities can use.
Highlighted features
- The future Regional Adaptation Support Tool (RAST) – available soon – which will provide regional authorities with practical step-by-step information about developing a climate change adaptation plan
- The Adaptation Dashboard which gives access to relevant data to inform understanding of specific climate vulnerabilities and risks
- A link to an online area for the EU Mission Adaptation Community of Practice, where regional authorities can receive technical assistance with progressing their climate adaptation planning processes, funding demonstration projects and engaging citizens
