Brussels startup Trosort selected for EU funding

How will their scalable textile sorting automation enhance new market opportunities for existing textile sorting centers?

Trosort’s SortMate project selected under Horizon Europe-funded IN-TRANSIT funding

Brussels startup Trosort just received the good news that their project SortMate had been funded under the IN-TRANSIT “Develop” call, itself funded by a wider Horizon Europe project.

SortMate is a collaborative project between two Belgian innovating companies: Brussels startup Trosort and Wallonian ICA, seeking to develop together a prototype system combining advanced image recognition and conveyor belt technology. This prototype is designed to evaluate garments’ resale potential based on fashionability and real-time market pricing, and aims to revolutionalize the second-hand market and make sustainable shopping more accessible.

Their selection under the IN-TRANSIT competitive procedure not only illustrates the excellence of their project, but also the potential impact of this solution on the second-hand sector. NCP Brussels and Enterprise Europe Brussels were proud to help out in the application process by offering process clarifications and proof reading of the application.

Achille Mathot, Co-founder and CEO of Trosort: “We would have never seen the opportunity to apply to In-Transit Development without NCP/EEB. They screened all subsidy potentials and reviewed our application draft to optimize it.”
