Brussels company BEEODIVERSITY creates a buzz!
Latest wave of EIC Accelerator results
On 14 October, the European Commission published its shortlist of 75 companies to receive funding under the latest call of the EIC Accelerator. This is the result of an extremely competitive process between Europe’s most competitive deep tech start-ups in all sectors. From more than 1,000 applications, the juries of experienced investors and entrepreneurs selected 232 companies for interviews, leading to 75 awardees.
Brussels EIC laureate creates a buzz
Brussels company BEEODIVERSITY is among these successful startups. BEEODIVERSITY will receive equity and grant to finance its BeeOimpact project. This unique solution uses the bee ecosystem to extract valuable biodiversity data and metrics. The EIC Accelerator website even featured the BeeOimpact project as one of the 5 examples selected in the press release. This not only illustrates the excellence of this project, but also the potential impact of this solution.
NCP Brussels was proud to help out in the application process by offering proof reading and a jury pitch simulation to prepare the BEEODIVERSITY team for the jury interview.
Michaël Van Cutsem, BEEODIVERSITY CEO:
“The NCP team helped us better understand the criteria of the EIC and the essential elements to put forward in the file. Their review of the file with an external and informed perspective was invaluable in improving the structure and formulation of our request as well as the points of attention. Their mastery of the procedure, particularly in connection with the interview, also allowed us to be in the best conditions to present the project.”
Can I be the next EIC success story?
The EIC Accelerator offers start-ups and SMEs grants of up to €2.5 million combined with equity investments through the EIC Fund ranging from €0.5 to €15 million or more. Companies can submit their ideas of highly disruptive innovations in various sectors to the EIC Accelerator at any time. These applications are then evaluated within approximately 4 weeks. The EIC evaluates proposales under criteria for excellence, impact and risk-level. Selected companies are invited to prepare full applications to submit to one of the regular cut-off dates. The next cut-off for EIC Accelerator full proposals is expected to be in January 2023.
