Applying for Horizon Europe funding: Dos and Don’ts

Wishing there was a way to avoid mistakes when applying for a Horizon Europe call? There is now!

Submitting a project proposal under Horizon Europe can be quite challenging. It definitely requires careful planning, precise budgeting, and a seamless collaboration with partners. Therefore, the Commission prepared some Dos and Don’ts to help you avoid common mistakes and draft a quality proposal.

Here are some examples:

✅ Dos:

◾ Build a strong consortium. Make use of the partner search tools and networks to find the right project partners

◾ Consider your human resources needs early on to avoid delays and ensure smooth implementation if your proposal is approved for funding

❌ Don’ts:

◾ Don’t leave your submission to the last minute. Remember, you can submit your draft multiple times on the Funding and Tenders portal before the deadline

◾ Don’t be hasty in developing your project idea and finding partners. Start your search before the call for proposals opens

◾ Don’t ‘overwrite’ your proposal – try to remain simple and straightforward. Don’t exceed the page limit
