International cooperation in Horizon 2020: funding opportunities outside the EU
The EU International Cooperation strategy, which addresses research and innovation in areas of common interest and mutual benefit, is based in the following 3 objectives:
- Extend the frontiers of scientific knowledge
- Tackle global challenges (e.g. water management, energy security, agricultural development or particular health issues)
- Invest in competitive industries
For the Horizon 2020 Societal Challenges (the H2020 3rd pillar), the main opportunities of international cooperation concern Brazil, Mexico, China, Japan, South Korea and African countries.
On March 8th, in Brussels, the European Commission, The Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), and the Brazilian National Council of State Funding Agencies (CONFAP) are organising the “EU-Brazil Workshop: Coordinated Call on Advanced Biofuels”. The workshop will provide an insight of the Horizon 2020 call H2020-LCE-22-2016 “International Cooperation with Brazil on advanced lignocellulosic biofuels”.
To register, send an email to oscar.nobrega@ext.eeas.europa.eu and RTD-H2020-World-Event@ec.europa.eu before March 1st, indicating your Full name, Date of birth, Nationality, and Number of ID card or passport.
