Interesting Gender Equality Events in Brussels

Debate with the Association of Spanish Scientists in Belgium (CEBE) on Friday March 6 from 6pm to 9:30pm.

Spanish Scientists in Belgium CEBE organise an interactive exchange on the position of women in science, and invited BeWiSe to contribute. Gender data from Belgium and Spain, legislative and voluntary measures, examples of good practices and how effective they are, enrolment of youth in sciences… A great opportunity to expand the European network of supporters of gender equality in academia and in private organisations, to and get inspiration for concrete actions.

Where? MuntPunt (Place de la Monnaie 6, 1000 Brussels, subway De Brouckère).

Welcome at 6pm, presentations and debates until 8:30pm followed by a reception.

Wiki workshop focusing on potential women publishers on March 3 & 4 at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences.

“Wikimedia and Wikipedia are at hand of citizens and citizen scientists – however, it seems that fewer women dare to publish and get hold of the tool than men do…

Through this workshop, we would like to present the work from wiki users and provide training about this tool towards the COST action community and the community of citizen science practitioners. Our goal is also to encourage women by disinhibiting them so that they give visibility to their research by publishing it and making it available to all.”
