Artificial intelligence in Horizon Europe calls: an interdisciplinary challenge

Organised by Net4Society HE project, this brokerage event targets those interested in submitting proposals dealing with artificial intelligence in various fields, such as health, digital, climate and environment, and requiring the involvement of social sciences and humanities (such as sociology, ethics, laws, psychology, economics, linguistics, anthropology, etc).

Target audience:

  • Applicants from Cluster 1Cluster 4, Cluster 5, and Cluster 6 with STEM or SSH expertise and interested in topics requiring the involvement of the social sciences and humanities
  • Applicants from social sciences and humanities disciplines who are interested in exploring opportunities for SSH disciplines beyond Cluster 2
  • All stakeholders active in the field of Artificial Intelligence

Concept

Artificial Intelligence is gaining a central role in the research and innovation ecosystem; its implementation and use are now indispensable in strengthening Europe’s potential to compete globally.

In view of this goal, Europe has joined forces by setting up an “AI Action Plan” aimed at boosting the EU’s technological and industrial capacity and AI uptake across the economy, prepare for socio-economic changes brought by AI and ensure an appropriate ethical and legal framework.

The Horizon Europe programme is one of the multiple investments tools mobilised by the European Commission, which, in line with the  AI Continent Action Plan, supports research and innovation projects that are able to develop trustworthy and human-centric artificial intelligence.

The collaboration between SSH (Social Sciences and Humanities) disciplines and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) is one of the key elements for a holistic approach to enhancing artificial intelligence in Europe.

The brokerage event targets those interested in submitting proposals dealing with artificial intelligence in various fields, such as health, digital, climate and environment, and requiring the involvement of social sciences and humanities (such as sociology, ethics, laws, psychology, economics, linguistics, anthropology, etc).

The event is an opportunity to:

  • learn more about the topics in order to prepare a high-quality proposal
  • get more information about the effective collaboration between SSH and STEM
  • get in touch with other participants and start building interdisciplinary collaborations
